Rationale
A new pilot recently joined VF-124, his callsign is Nemo; being pretty much new to flight simulators he asked for some training and therefore on Jan 3, Sunday morning, Munzebi and Thorvald hosted a two-hours exercitation of BFM and combat engagement using TAW cooperative mission generator.

First things first..

First of all we started with some formation flying: two IL-78R and a Learjet were leading the way while Thorvald and Nemo tried to stay on their tail, with Munzebi behind checking their manoeuvres. As soon as Nemo gained confidence with the basics, some cannon exercises took place; the target were the forementioned unarmed IL-78R and the Learjet (Nemo learnt the hard way that debris are a problem after the kill is scored <g>).

"Guns guns guns!", yelled the pilot

The last part of the course was centered on dogfighting against a relatively easy target: Throvald and Nemo fought two A10s, cannons only (ACMI available here -- Munzebi entered the arena but crashed his plane to make the fight 2 vs 2 and in order to concentrate on Nemo skills) trying not to kill each other and not to be killed by the Warthogs. The Hog may be slow, but it isn´t surely a foe to be overlooked; Nemo showed however good skills and both aggressors were downed without friendly casualties.

RTB

All in all it has been a lot of fun: lag was minimal, TAW crashed only once in two hours and the pilots brought some sane positive attitude.
We´re looking forward to continue the training missions as Nemo will get more and more proficient with his skills, so if you are interested in participating, contact us!
